"Imagination is the only reality" is repeated so many times in manifesting circles that it's so easy to just tune it out. I feel like I heard it 1000 times before it really clicked that whatever I accept as true in my imagination is the only cause of the reality I see. In fact, my imagination is the only place my desires lived all along. They always originated there even if I could also see them in the physical world.
Imagination is where you get to choose who you say you are. Imagination is the I AM. So, if you're looking to manifest an SP for example, if you declare "I am with SP" in your imagination, then that's the only source of what you will see in the 3D physical world.
"That which you experience in imagination is an actual creative act. It is a fact in the fourth dimension of space and will make its appearance in this three-dimensional world just as surely as planting a seed will result in the growth of a particular plant." - Neville Goddard
The rest of the Law only makes sense through the lens of imagination being the only reality, actually.
If imagination is the only reality, then that means circumstances don't matter! Circumstances can't crawl into your imagination and start putting things in there. Only you can put stuff in imagination. You can agree that the circumstances are your reality, but it is your identification with that truth in imagination that actually creates more of the circumstances. It doesn't matter if you had a falling out with someone if in your imagination the relationship is exactly the way you want it.
If imagination is the only reality, then you are the operant power! Nobody can imagine for you, so you are the only operant power in your experience. In fact, whatever you believe in imagination shifts you to those realities that reflect its truth. A specific person can't say "Sorry, actually I don't love you" if they love you in your imagination, so they actually have to act out what you imagine is true about them.
When you know your imagination is your only truth, you feel at ease knowing that all desires are done and must be reflected.
If you can imagine it, you have the choice to accept it as your truth or not. If it's not true, then it is just a daydream. Once you accept that lovely desire as your truth, it's yours. Resting in that truth is the first and last step. There's nothing more to do! So, if you like, go crazy with your imagination. Imagine the most delicious life knowing that it's 100% the only reality and truth. It is the only fact. There's nothing too great!
I used to be so satisfied in my vivid imagination as a child. I could sit in my play room for hours with like a toy pig, a Barbie, and a stuffed Winnie the Pooh and act out all kinds of adventures in my head. I was so absorbed in my story that nothing else mattered. It might have looked boring on the outside, but it was my favorite way to have fun.
Somewhere along the way, we tend to lose that satisfaction with our imaginations. We start looking at the outside for that fulfillment.
Truly maturing as an adult meant I had to become like a child again. I had to realize my imagination is where my satisfaction always was and always will be. And now, as an adult, I can have way more fun directing my mind purposely in order to play with those imaginings in the 3D physical world, too.
That said, it's all about being completely satisfied in imagination. You can still manifest anything you want without any imaginal acts. The key is simply to know your desire is a fact. It is the only basis upon which the physical world arranges itself.
Technically, you can just think once, "I am with SP," believe it, and it will materialize quickly if you don't ever change your mind to "I am not with SP." This still follows that imagination is the only reality because imagination is just your I AM.
Your truth is the truth because you are in your own reality bubble. Read my post on parallel realities to know what I mean by that. Nobody else has a say in your bubble. So, what do you want going on in your reality?
